About Me

My love of learning is what attracted me to academic life. I was inspired to pursue a PhD because I wanted to understand more about how the brain works to control attention, and how attention control is related to movement disorders. You can read more about my research and publications on my website.

My passion for learning is also fulfilled by being a teacher. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Northeastern University. I teach adult neurological rehabilitation to physical therapy students, and mentor students in clinical research. I recognize that neurological rehabilitation is a challenging area for students because it is rarely black and white. Indeed, for this reason it is often feared, even hated, by physiotherapy students. In this blog, I hope to help my students feel more comfortable with the grey. If I'm lucky, they may even realize that the grey is what makes neuro rehab so intellectually stimulating!
